What we put into our bodies directly correlates to our skins health, that’s a no brainer. But did you know one of the most important things we can consume for a healthy complexion is water?

Now this probably doesn’t comes as a surprise to you considering our bodies are made up of roughly 70% water, but the reasons why might surprise you!

Water intake to our skin helps deliver essential nutrients to our skin cells. This then in turn helps our skin repair it’s self and increase it’s elasticity. That means staving off the beginnings of the ageing process, such as fine lines and wrinkles. This happens because water plumps up our skin cells making them nice and round therefore giving you a plumper more supple and fuller complexion.

The opposite is also true in terms of diffusion. Toxins which accumulate within the skins layers are promptly removed from the skin’s cells when they are correctly hydrated, allowing for our skin’s cells to function at an optimum level allowing for the skin’s incredible regenerative abilities to continue at a steady rate keeping you looking your best.

In terms of skincare products how hydrated we are can mean the difference between our bodies absorbing an array of chemicals via our skin or limiting that absorption dramatically.  How? Think of dry skin as a dry sponge; as soon as any moisture comes into contact with it the sponge drinks up the liquid almost immediately because it is so dry it’s absorption capacity is at its greatest and vice versa, a wet sponge absorbs very little liquid. Well your skin does the same thing with harmful chemicals! The more dehydrated your are the more your skin wants to drink what is comes into contact with.

So the moral of the story is to keep your body well hydrated by drinking at least eight glasses of filtered water per day and choosing skincare with little to no toxins in it to avoid exposure to harmful chemicals. Our Original beauty scrub is as natural as can be to help you exfoliate dry dull skin on your bodies surface and adds moisture back to your skin with raw local honey and organic coconut oil providing that all important moisture barrier!

Keep happy & healthy
